Creator & Collaborator

You bring the idea. Let's explore what we could create together.

Maybe you create videos.

Maybe you host a podcast.

Maybe you tell brilliant business stories.

Maybe you have an audience that trusts you.

Or maybe you've got an idea that doesn't fit neatly into any box.

Southampton Business Award brings together businesses, entrepreneurs, leaders, stories and moments worth discovering. You bring your creativity. Let's see what happens when the two meet.

Start with you

What do you love creating?

Not your follower count. What you actually enjoy making.

You

What best describes you?

Choose as many as fit.

Three ways in

How would you like to get involved?

I create content

I want access to interesting people, stories and moments I could turn into content.

I have an audience

I have a community or audience and would like to explore relevant ways of working together.

I have an idea

I have something I'd like to create with the awards.

More than one applies? Choose them all.

Find my creator fit

Where could your creativity fit?

Tell us a little about what you create. We'll help you explore where there could be a natural fit, before asking for any details.

Question 1 of 7

Why create with us?

Not “exposure”. Something worth making.

Stories

Find people worth talking to.

Entrepreneurs, businesses, leaders and communities, where consent and availability allow.

Content

Never run out of questions worth asking.

Awards create moments, conversations and stories that lend themselves naturally to content.

Experience

Don't just attend. Have a reason to be there.

Where relevant, creators take part through a defined role, agreed in advance.

People

Meet the humans behind the businesses.

Founders, leaders and professionals, though introductions are never guaranteed.

Collaboration

Turn one piece of content into something bigger.

One-off or longer-term concepts, where there is mutual fit.

Opportunity

Let good work lead to the next conversation.

Good relationships can lead somewhere. Paid work, leads or contracts are never promised.

Find the overlap

What do you want, and what do you bring?

Some businesses in the wider awards community may be interested in creators. Where interests are compatible, the team may help start a conversation; nothing is promised.

What are you looking for?

And what can you offer?

Pitch a collaboration

Got an idea we haven't thought of?

Good. Some of the best collaborations don't begin with a package. They begin with “what if we tried this?”

Don't squeeze your idea into one of our boxes. Tell us what you're thinking.

Step 1 of 6

What's your idea?

Relevance over reach

You don't need millions of followers.

A creator with 5,000 highly relevant followers could matter more than one with 500,000 unrelated ones. Follower count is useful context; it is never the whole decision. We look at:

Audience relevance

Content quality

Trust

Engagement

Creative fit

Industry relevance

Community

Professional credibility

Collaboration potential

Which route is right for me?

What are you really looking to do?

Creators create; media report; ambassadors connect; suppliers provide a contracted service; partners combine wider capabilities; sponsors invest in visibility. Someone can be more than one.

Creative independence

Good collaboration needs clarity.

Agreed clearly, before anyone commits:

The commercial model

We don't assume you'll work for free.

We also don't assume every collaboration is paid. Depending on the project, it could be one of these, and which one is always clear before you commit. Unpaid work is never dressed up as paid, and “exposure” is never a substitute for terms.

Exploring?

Register creator interest

Fast. Anything you told the page above comes with it.

Register creator interest

Ready?

Create my creator profile

Six short steps, one decision at a time. Audience numbers come late, as context.

Step 1 of 6

Who are you?

Know a creator?

Know someone who would love this?

Maybe they host a podcast, make brilliant video, interview business leaders, run a community, or always know how to turn an ordinary moment into something interesting.

Questions

What creators ask us

Do I need a big following?+

No. Five thousand relevant followers can matter more than half a million unrelated ones. We look at relevance, quality, trust and creative fit; audience size is context, not the decision.

Is this paid?+

Some collaborations may be paid and some may not. Whatever the model (paid, commissioned, content or value exchange, event access, revenue share or unpaid creative participation), it is agreed clearly before anyone commits. We never offer "exposure" in place of terms.

Will I get access to finalists, winners or the ceremony?+

Access depends on the role, the event and the consent of the people involved. It is agreed in advance, never assumed.

Who owns the content I create?+

Ownership, usage rights, credits, approvals and licensing are agreed for each collaboration before it starts.

Do I keep creative independence?+

Creative independence is part of what we agree up front. Sponsorship never buys a creator endorsement.

Do I need to sponsor to take part?+

No. Creating and sponsoring are separate. Creators never need to sponsor to participate.

I'm a videographer who wants to quote for filming the event.+

That is a supplier relationship: head to the supplier page. If you want to co-create something, like a founder documentary series, you are in the right place.

What happens after I register, pitch or create a profile?+

The team reviews the creative fit and gets in touch personally. Nothing here is a selection or a commitment.

You don't need to know exactly what the collaboration looks like yet.

Maybe you've already got the idea.

Maybe you'd love to interview interesting founders.

Maybe you want to capture the energy of an awards night.

Maybe you can see a content series waiting to happen.

That's exactly why we should talk.

You bring your creativity. We'll bring the stories, people and possibilities.
